Problem & Objective
During my freelance endeavors, I embarked on a project to enhance my skills in design, branding, marketing, content strategy, and product design. The challenge involved creating a mockup skincare brand from scratch.
Here are a few of the tasks I set out to accomplish:
- Research and conceptualize a skincare company and its products tailored to the specific needs of targeted audiences.
- Craft a distinctive, engaging, and refined skincare brand that would effortlessly stand out in the highly competitive beauty industry.
- Devise a comprehensive a social media, SMS, and email marketing technique to increase brand awareness and personalize content for a more impactful consumer connection.
I was tasked with:
- Developing Glow Club's comprehensive visual brand identity, encompassing everything from logos to product designs.
- Conducting in-depth research to define Glow Club's core buyer personas to inform decisions related to customer needs, product development, brand voice, and overarching marketing strategies.
- Designing vibrant marketing deliverables and mockups, spanning across products, social media graphics, email templates, and more, ensuring a cohesive and immersive brand experience at every consumer touchpoint.
- Creating captivating designs and writing entertaining copy for promotional content, specifically tailored for a captivating email marketing welcome sequence campaign.

I accomplished these tasks by immersing myself in extensive research before embarking on the brand conceptualization. The research laid the groundwork for crafting targeted personas, acting as a compass for shaping the entire skincare brand – from selecting colors and fonts to defining brand voice and product range. With the brand guidelines in place, I translated them into product mockups and marketing materials.
Accomplishments:
- Crafted distinctive slogans to elevate brand messaging, injecting a memorable touch into marketing endeavors.
- Meticulously curated rounded and modern fonts, ensuring easy readability and a cohesive visual identity.
- Strategically selected blue, green, and teal as brand colors, based on color theory to signal reliability, eco-friendliness, and a natural ethos to audiences.
- Formulated compelling unique selling points, enabling effective market distinction in the highly competitive skincare industry.
- Drove product and strategy development by meticulously researching and crafting three primary personas, aligning with user needs and app usage patterns.
- Innovatively devised an alternative marketing strategy, incorporating influencer and affiliate marketing, while pinpointing content strategy tactics for distinctive industry positioning.
Learnings & Takeaways
